Born in Hamburg, Germany in 2017
Fitness Racing marked a new era in competitive fitness with the launch of HYROX. Since then, HYROX has exploded in popularity, becoming one of the fastest-growing global fitness sports. With more than 65 races planned in over 30 countries in 2024, HYROX has evolved into a movement embraced by more than 500,000 people — from everyday fitness fans to elite competitors.

HYROX is designed for inclusion. With no qualifying rounds or time limits, anyone can sign up and take part. In fact, more than 99% of participants successfully cross the finish line. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a casual gym-goer, HYROX welcomes you.

HYROX is the ultimate inclusive competition. With multiple racing formats — from solo runs to partner and team relays — there’s a path for everyone. The event is open to all ages and abilities, including adaptive athletes.
A new wave of runners starts every 10 minutes, so while athletes share the same racecourse, they each experience it on their own terms. This unique setup allows for a celebration where a 3-hour finisher might be taking their final steps beside someone finishing in under an hour — a true community moment.
THE FOUNDERS BEHIND THE VISION
HYROX was co-created by Christian Toetzke — a veteran leader in global endurance events — and Moritz Fürste, a two-time Olympic medalist and three-time world champion in field hockey, turned entrepreneur.

HYROX’s international footprint continues to expand rapidly. The brand now collaborates with major global sponsors and supports a growing network of more than 3,500 affiliated gyms and fitness coaches.
